I run Durabuilt fencing company and I have used Aussie Stairs DIY wire balustrade kit. I am so happy with the end result. There on call support, guidance for install and product quality is top notch. Would use them again. Very easy to install. Would recommend anyone needing DIY kits.
We worked together with Aussie Stairs on a recent outdoor living project & it couldn't have gone smoother. We went the DIY install route of their SS wire balustrade product and the process was extremely easy.
Will be partnering with Aussie Stairs again.
Thank you guys

Yes — that’s exactly what these kits are for, and you don’t need to be a tradesperson. Every part arrives cut to length and labelled, the posts and wire are worked out for you, and it comes with step-by-step instructions. If you can measure with a tape and use a spirit level, you can fit it — and if you get stuck, our WA team is on the phone to walk you through it.
For measuring: a tape measure and a spirit level (an angle finder helps on corners, but there’s an easy method above if you don’t have one). For fitting: a drill/driver for the base fixings. The specialist wire tensioning and cutting tools can be added to your kit to buy, or hired — you’ll see that option in the builder above.
Nothing is cut or made until our team has checked your measurements and confirmed the layout with you. We’ll flag anything that looks off — off-square corners, post heights, fixing surfaces — before anything is manufactured. And because you don’t pay until you approve the final kit, a measuring slip never costs you a wasted order.
Either works. We can supply new stainless posts fixed to your deck or slab, or run the wire between your existing timber posts and railing with no new posts at all. Just tell us what you’ve already got when you send your measurements and we’ll build the kit to suit.
Timber decking, joists or bearers, a concrete slab, tile over slab, or a steel beam / PFC. The right base fixings depend on your surface, so let us know what you’re fixing into and we’ll supply the correct ones with your kit.
The kits are built to standard balustrade dimensions — 1010mm to the top of the rail, posts spaced to keep the structure sound, and tensioned wire kept within the non-climbable gap limit, with the wires staying adjustable so they can be re-tensioned over time. One thing to note: our measuring guide is general assistance, not a compliance certificate — final sign-off for your site still rests with you and your builder or building surveyor, so check your local requirements before you order.
It depends on the size of the job and how many corners or stair flights are involved. A straightforward single run is well within reach of a confident DIYer over a weekend; larger or multi-level jobs take longer. When we confirm your kit we’ll give you a realistic idea for your specific layout.
We fabricate in Maddington, WA (23 Carole Rd) and deliver Australia-wide. Freight is quoted separately once we’ve confirmed your parts list, since it depends on kit size and where it’s going — or you’re welcome to collect free from our Maddington warehouse.
